VERGE TECHNOLOGIES ACQUIRES ICS DIVISION FROM VISTACARE COMMUNICATIONS

(Halifax, Nova Scotia January 2, 2020) Verge Technologies Inc completed the acquisition of the Integrated Communications Solutions (ICS) Division of VistaCare Communications. Verge Technologies is a newly formed corporation led by former the VistaCare ICS division management team Mike McCarther and Phil Diochon.

The ICS group of VistaCare Communications was one of the most successful divisions led by communications veteran Mike McCarther over the past five years. The ICS division experienced year-over-year growth and attracted many high-profile clients and projects. It has a strong compliment of dedicated and professional long-term staff of forty including specialized technicians, outside sales, technical sales, operations management and administrators all of whom are transitioning into the new brand, Verge Technologies. “Verge Technologies has an exciting future being on the leading edge of technology solutions in commercial security, communications cabling and Pro AV”, said Verge President & CEO, McCarther. “We now have the full and unobstructed ability to scale this business and showcase it’s maximum potential”.  Phil Diochon recently joined Verge to lead the delivery side of the business as Chief Operations Officer. Phil spent the last twelve years with the Barrington Consulting Group as a Senior Consultant with a focus on business analysis, process mapping, leading project application testing and training delivery. Ryan Corkum, (VistaCare’s Vice President of Finance and Administration) also joined as a partner to fill the company’s Treasurer role while continuing his active role at VistaCare. In addition to Mike, Phil and Ryan well known serial entrepreneurs Paul LeBlanc of Halifax and Paul Jenkins of Charlottetown have invested in Verge and lead the Advisory Board.

The new brand, Verge Technologies reflects the new company’s ambition to always stay on the leading edge of technology in the Security & Life-Safety, ProAV and Communications Cabling offerings. Verge Technologies is now completely independent of VistaCare Communications other than some shared resources to support the transition following a successful management buyout process.

“We have a very strong book of business in hand for 2020 and we couldn’t be more excited to be fully behind the wheel to grow Verge Technologies across the Maritimes and beyond” said Diochon. “We have been laser focused on excellent project delivery in the past and now with an increased bench of management, strategic investors and seasoned advisors, we know our growth opportunities have no limits.”
