Senior Structured Cable Technician - NB

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Structured Cabling Technician to join our team in New Brunswick. Fibre splicing & mechanical connections
Pathway installations (J-hooks, etc)
Headend racking, cable management, terminations, testing & certifying
Low-voltage cabling to support security, AV and other building systems
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead project installations; manage project team members, project schedule, customer expectations and be accountable for the end project
Maintain cable systems by installing, repairing, programming, and upgrading cable infrastructure
Run new cabling in new or existing buildings
Responsible for the termination and testing of new cabling
Perform major and minor preventive maintenance and repairs by troubleshooting cabling system issues
Set up new telecommunications frames
Assist co-workers with installation and routine maintenance of structured cabling systems
Installation of equipment and associated wiring
Complete project documentation; test results, as-builts, O&M manuals, etc. Basic computer skills required.
Interpretation of drawings and specifications including architectural, electrical, elevations, and schematic drawings
Communicate with the customers about the system specifications and functions
Complete all daily, weekly and monthly paperwork as required
Attend service calls to troubleshoot systems for customers – diagnosis of problems and implementation of solutions
Understand, adhere to, and promote environmental health & safety practices
Outgoing, professional and friendly personality with the ability to liaise with customers, conduct site surveys and do basic estimating for time and materials jobs
Highly organized and self-motivated, requiring very little supervision
Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Experience Required
5+ year’ experience in the structured cabling business, CCS or Journeyman Cabling Technician Accreditation considered an asset
Supervisory or team lead experience including both people and project management experience
Familiar with commercial, enterprise, government and industrial communications and low voltage cabling infrastructure
Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
Ability to manage workload and to ensure that jobs are completed on time and on budget
Preference will be given to those who have experience with the following Manufacturers:
Panduit
Belden
Corning
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required
Willingness to travel
A valid criminal record check
