ProAV Technician - Halifax

We are currently seeking an experienced ProAV Technician to join our team in Nova Scotia. Our ProAV technicians work on the following systems and solutions:
Large Format Display, Video Walls, Projectors and Screens
Distributed Audio Systems
System Control and Integration
Audio & Video Conferencing Systems
Digital Signage Solutions & Software
Duties and Responsibilities
Installation of equipment and associated wiring
Basic programming support and system configuration of Crestron, Q-SYS, Cisco, Polycom type systems
Commission and test equipment
Interpretation of drawings including architectural, elevation, and schematic drawings.
Communicate with the customers about the system specifications and functions
Complete all daily, weekly and monthly paperwork as required
Attend service calls to troubleshoot systems for customers – diagnosis of problems and implementation of solutions
Provide excellent customer service
Lead project installations from the field; manage team members, project schedule, customer expectations and be accountable for the end product
Understand, adhere to and promote environmental health & safety practices
Diagnose problems and implement solutions.
Knowledge and Skills
Job planning according to desired timelines, including the dissection of blueprints from designers
Outgoing and friendly personality with the ability to liaise with customers, conduct site surveys and do basic quoting for time and materials jobs
Professionalism and integrity when dealing directly with clients, general contractors and trades
Highly organized and self-motivated, requiring very little supervision
Ability to manage workload and to ensure jobs are completed on time
Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Self-disciplined, motivated and organized
Knowledge of IP networks and the ability to configure IP based system solutions
Strong ability and experience in coordinating and motivating team members while verifying completed tasks to provide on-the-job training and mentors
Position Requirements
5+ years’ experience in ProAV Installations
Familiar with ProAudio-Visual, Commercial Security & Life-Safety systems
CTS Certificate considered an asset
Expert level knowledge of ProAV installation practices
Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
Ability to manage workload and to ensure that jobs are completed on time and on budget
Preference will be given to those who have programming and configuration experience with the following Manufacturers:
Crestron
Q-sys
Extron
Polycom
Cisco
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s licence; reasonable driver abstract
Willingness to work overtime
Travel throughout Atlantic Canada may be required
A valid criminal record check
